Top Fall Festivities in New Jersey

It’s that time of year.. again! Brace yourselves for pumpkin spice lattes, pictures of leaves flooding your newsfeed and the smell of freshly baked apple pies. While we're sorry to see the sunny days of summer fade away, there are so many fun fall activities all over New Jersey that have us super excited. And yes, we’ll be loading up our Instagram up with all of our fall activities, too! In anticipation, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite New Jersey based fall activities.

Screamin Hill Brewery

Head to Screamin Hill Brewery, New Jersey's first farm brewery, for a beer tasting. The brewery is located in a picturesque red barn and the farm also has hayrides, a corn maze, sunflower field and a pumpkin patch. Perfect for families and couples!

Picnics at New Jersey State Parks

Fall is a great time to load up your picnic basket and visit one of the beautiful parks in New Jersey. We love setting up a beautiful spread with food we pick up from local delis and specialty shops, playing some music on our phones and relaxing for hours. The Princeton Battlefield State Park, Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park and the Barnegat Lighthouse State Park are some of our favorite parks, but there are also a lot of other great options for picnics. Dope Tip: You can also check your local wineries to see if they welcome packed picnics on their grounds. Many wineries do with a purchase of a bottle of wine!

Apple Picking at Terhune Orchards

Terhune Orchards is one of our favorite spots to go apple picking in NJ. It is a beautiful pick your own farm that really shines during the fall. From September through October you can pick over 30 different varieties of apples right from the orchard. Did we mention there is also a winery here? After (or before!) you go apple picking, you can stop by the tasting room to try their 12 varieties of wine.

Zombie Paintball

Yes, you read that right, we said Zombie Paintball! These Two Dopes are not immune to zombies & we have been infected with the zombie craze too! Halloween gives us a great excuse to seek out the epic combination of zombies & paintball throughout New Jersey! The Field of Terror in East Windsor, NJ offers a Zombie Paintball Wagon Hunt that takes you through a dark cornfield with zombies lurking in the shadows. You get to defend yourself & your fellow humans with paintballs as you ride through. Brookhollow’s Barnyard in Bootnton, NJ also offers a zombie hayride that is geared towards teenagers, but welcome to zombie hunters of all ages.

Pumpkin Picking

We love to frolic in a picturesque pumpkin patch and luckily for us, New Jersey is filled with so many gorgeous farms. One of our favorite farms is Argos Farm in Forked River, NJ with a huge pumpkin patch and lots of family-focused activities. They also offer seasonal naturally grown products, pasture raised meats & eggs. Another beautiful farm is Demarest Farms in Hillsdale, NJ. Demarest Farms has a wonderful pumpkin patch, a petting zoo and delicious apple cider donuts!

Going to Harvest Festivals

We love Harvest Festivals and one of our favorites takes place in Allentown, NJ on the 2nd weekend of October. Allentown is an adorable historic town with a quaint Main St that is the center of the festival. With a beer garden, petting zoo, street vendors and food trucks, it is hard to be bored with so many options!

If you check out any of these spots, be sure to tag us at #twodopesfromjersey so we can keep up with your fall adventures!
