Our Stay at The 1907 Bragdon House Bed and Breakfast in Geneva, NY

We packed up our car, drove straight towards the Jersey Turnpike and in an instant our Memorial Day Weekend Finger Lake adventure began. Seven long hours later, we finally made it to Geneva, NY, and pulled up to our B & B, The 1907 Bragdon House Bed and Breakfast. We were greeted by the house dog, Cookie (the cutest little Yorkie/Sharpee mix with the sweetest personality) and instantly felt right at home. Our room, named The Betty, had breathtaking views of Lake Seneca and the most comfortable bed and pillows you can imagine. The bathroom was clean and modern without losing the old-time charm we look for in our Bed & Breakfast stays. The rest of the house and property was just as mesmerizing as the view from our room. The house is perfectly restored and has antiques, flowers, great style and charm flowing through its pulse. The back veranda, overlooking Lake Seneca, is designed to be as comfortable and accommodating to the guests and we spent many hours sitting on the comfortable lounge furniture enjoying the view (and some local Riesling).

We could easily recommend this place based on the amenities, style and comforts alone, but what really made this our best experience at a B & B was Diane, one of the owners of the Bragdon House. A sign hangs in the entrance way of the B & B and it reads, ”Come as Strangers, Leave As Friends” and that is definitely the philosophy she lives by and the way her and her daughter run this lovely place. It is hard not to feel at home with her warm welcome, wonderful personality and charm. Every morning Diane makes a delicious breakfast for all of the guests and everyone sits together in the dining room and enjoys a meal before starting their day. It can be hard to find the right balance of comfort, privacy, and hospitality in a Bed and Breakfast, but it is done flawlessly here. We cannot wait to plan our next trip back!

Diane also does custom Wine Tours of the Seneca Lake and with over 60 wineries around the lake, you will definitely need a driver with her expertise.
