Lewes is an undeniably cute coastal town in Delaware with a charming downtown full of shops and great resturants. Lewes is rich in history and outdoor activities. Its also only 20 minutes away from the Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, DE. A stones throw away from Cape May, NJ, you can easily escape for a weekend getaway via ferry - side note: also a pretty easy drive from the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Any beer lover is going to head over to Milton to check out the Dogfish Head Brewery. They offer an extensive tour of the grounds and free beer tastings to vistitors. They sell pints of beer, growler refills and create a great environment to hang out with friends. In the warmer months, the outdoor setup includes botchee ball, corn hole and a food truck.

Educational Fun:

Lewes, home of the first European settlement in Delaware, has rightfully dubbed itself "The First Town in the First State." The area originally settled by the Dutch, the Zwaanedael Musuem, celebrates the history of Delaware and the first European settlers. It's also home to the oldest structure in Delaware: The Ryves Holt House!

Dogfish Inn - owned and operated by the Dogfish Brewery, it’s a great place to stay if you want the complete Dogfish experience. They offer shuttles to the brewery in Milton and to the brew pub in Rohobeth.
